What is Karaoke?
Karaoke is an increasingly popular form of entertainment which lets everyone be a star! Karaoke allows you to sing along with the soundtracks to your favorite recording artists. Having originated in Japan, Karaoke has now spread throughout the U.S. and the world. Millions now enjoy Karaoke at home and in clubs and restaurants. Karaoke is a Japanese abbreviated compound word which translates roughly as "empty orchestra." "Kara" comes from "karappo" meaning empty, and "oke" is the abbreviation of "okesutura," or orchestra. Karaoke is used to describe any sing-a-long track which displays lyrics on a TV or video screen. Usually, a music disc consists of vocals and accompaniment. Music discs in which only the accompaniment is recorded are called "Karaoke CD's or Karaoke Discs."

Q. Why can I not send an email list anymore?
A. Because the new site includes the shopping cart and payment processing and the emails she receives took far too long to process due to formatting and typographical errors, the new process was put in place. This will allow for quicker turn around of your order.
I know that change can be a pain, but please understand that due to the number of orders received in a day can be quite overwhelming... especially when the orders come in so many different formats. With growth of any business comes change. We are embracing it and hoping that our loyal customers will be patient through our growing pains.
Q. Are your Custom CDG Compilations pressed or burned to a CD-R?
A. Every song you select, is carefully and individually burned to a customized CD-R Compilation.
Q. Can I change my mind about the songs after I have placed my order?
A. All orders are considered final at the time your online order is processed. If you discover a major problem shortly after your online order is placed, contact us as soon as possible, and we will attempt to correct your problem.
Q. Can I pay to add additional tracks to my custom disk?
A. No. Our production process utilises the maximum amount of space available, therefore it is impossible to add aditional tracks without creating a new disk.
Q. Can I play my new Custom CDG Compilation on my computer?
A. The audio portion of your Custom CDG Compilation will play on your PC, just as any other audio-only CD would. However, the scrolling lyrics will only appear when your compilation is used with a CD+G compatible Karaoke player. As such, we guarantee only that our Custom CDG Compilations are CD+G player compatible. We do not provide customer support for non-CDG player uses of our CDG Compilations.
Q. Do your Custom CDG Compilations come with printed lyrics sheets?
A. No. Printed lyrics sheets are not included with your Custom CDG Compilation.
Q. How do I create a Custom CDG Compilation?
A. Pick the songs you would like and add them to your cart IN THE ORDER you would like them to appear on your disc.
Q. How much will a Custom CDG Compilation cost me?
A. Songs are priced at $1.00 US each, with a minimum order of 10 songs per disc, and a maximum 15 song limit per disc. Therefore, the minimum cost of a Custom CDG Compilation would be $10.00 per disc, with a maximum price of $15.00 per disc.
Q. If I damage my Custom CDG, can I get a replacement?
A. The care of your Custom CDG Compilation is your responsibility, and accidental damage, abuse or normal wear and tear is not covered by Your Own Karaoke. If you receive a damaged product from us, please contact us immediately, and we will make arrangements to send you a replacement Custom CDG Compilation.
Q. What are your delivery times for Custom CDG Compilations?
A. You can expect to receive your Custom CDG Compilation within 2-3 weeks of receipt of payment.
Q. Will my song selections be printed on the disc itself?
A. Yes. Your song selections will be numbered and printed directly on your Custom CDG Compilation.
Q. How will I know when Your Own Karaoke posts new releases?
A. Once you have ordered, you will be automatically signed up for the mailing list, or check the site for the new release announcement.
Q. How do I remove my name from the mailing list?
A. When you receive a newsletter or update from us, there is a link at the bottom of the message indicating that you can unsubscribe from our newsletter service at any time. Click on this link the next time you receive one of our newsletters, and you will be removed from our mailing list.
Q. Can I leave items in my shopping cart?
A. Yes. If you are not quite ready to purchase the items in your shopping cart, or you wish to purchase them at a later date, feel free to leave them there. They will be waiting for you the next time you visit us!
*Note* Your Karaoke Order Shopping Cart is tied specifically to your computer. So, if you add items to your shopping cart on one computer, you will not be able to access these items if you logon to another computer.
Q. Can I place a phone order?

A. Your shopping cart is for your eyes only!
Q. How do I empty my shopping cart?
A. While viewing your cart, change the all quantities to 0 (zero) and click on RECALCULATE button.
Q. How do I know my order has been completed?
A. Once your credit information has been validated, you will receive a message that indicates that your purchase was successful!
You will also receive a sales receipt via e-mail immediately. The purchase receipt contains information about your purchase.
Q. I ordered a duplicate song on my CDG, can I change this?
A. Contact customer service firstname.lastname@example.org immediately and we will attempt to modify your CDG before processing. Once processing is complete, we cannot make changes.
Q. What payment options are available to me?
A. While shopping online at Your Own Karaoke, you will be able to purchase products by using a Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express card. You may also send payment via PayPal to email@example.com. You can also send your order via email, stating you wish to pay with a money order. Mail your money order to the address provided by return email.
Q. Will I be billed for items placed in my shopping cart?
A. No, you will not be billed for any items you leave in your cart. You will only be billed for items once you have provided your credit information and you have clicked the "PROCESS" button located on the final order confirmation page in our online checkout process.
Q. Are these the original artist's recordings?
A. No, our Karaoke songs are not the original artist's recordings. Artists and publishers generally will not allow their original recordings to be distributed in Karaoke format. Instead, each song has been arranged and recorded by a Professional Karaoke Producer using studio musicians to duplicate the original hit recordings you love so much!
Q. Can I request songs?
A. Yes, you may submit song requests in the Contact Us section of the site.
Q. How often do you add new songs?
A. New releases are added to the site usually at least once every month.
Q. Do you offer C.O.D?
A. No. Payment can be made using a credit card, PayPal or by mailing in a money order.
Q. Do you ship internationally?
A. Your Own Karaoke will ship to any international destination.
Q. When will I receive my order?
A. You can expect to receive your order within 2-3 weeks of your payment date. In the case of money orders, the day Your Own Karaoke receives your money order is your payment date.
Q. Who is responsible for the payment of duties and taxes?
A. Trade agreements vary between Canada and international countries. For this reason, duties and taxes applicable on the importation of any of Your Own Karaoke’s products are the responsibility of the customer.
Q. I received a defective disk?
A. Please contact our Customer Service Department at firstname.lastname@example.org. If only 1-2 songs are defective and the rest are correct please include the name of the defective song(s)/artist(s). You will be instructed to send the disc back for confirmation of the defect, and replacement of the disc.
Q. I received an incorrect song on my custom CDG?
A. Please contact our Customer Service Department at email@example.com with the name of the incorrect song(s)/artist(s).
